IMPORTANT MESSAGE

 The New York Court of Appeals ruled on June 27, 2007 that the New York pre-existing condition statute (Insurance Law Section 3234) permits a benefit waiting periodof up to 12 months and not an exclusion of the pre-existing condition for disability policies issued in New York.

As a result of this ruling, Commercial Travelers Insurance Company is automatically undertaking a re-examination of New York disability claims denied based possibly upon pre-existing conditions within the period two years prior to June 27, 2007 (the date of the ruling).

Commercial Travelers Insurance will be contacting the affected insureds (if applicable).
